The Model Code of Conduct for Local Councils in NSW sets a mandatory minimum standard for conduct by all council officials including councillors and council staff. It provides guidance to council officials and the community on what standards of behaviour apply. Click here to view the Model Code of Conduct for Local Councils in NSW. If you think a council official has breached the code, the first step is to view the council's code of conduct. If your complaint is about staff other than the General Manager, or is about a councillor, then you should make a written complaint to the General Manager. If your complaint is about the General Manager, you should make your complaint in writing to the Mayor. The code of conduct sets out how complaints are assessed and investigated.
