Council Dog Attack Reporting
Clause 33A of the Companions Animal Regulation 2008 requires all councils to report dog attacks in their area within 72 hours of receiving the information.A dog attack can include any incident where a dog rushes at, attacks, bites, harasses or chases any person or animal (other than vermin), whether or not any injury is caused to the animal or person.
Please Note - the following data relates to those dog attacks reported by councils for the period. For example, councils may not have reported attacks in this period until after the end of this quarter. As a result the number of attacks in this report may not match entirely to those number of attacks reported in the same period in future reports.
