TEAM LEADER COMPANION ANIMALS, Clerk Grade 7/8, Nowra, Permanent Full-Time, Vacancy No: DLG2009/07

The Division of Local Government is responsible for local government in NSW. Our role is to provide clear policy and legislative foundations so councils can deliver quality services in a sustainable manner.

TEAM LEADER COMPANION ANIMALS: Clerk Grade 7/8, Nowra, Permanent Full-Time, Vacancy No: DLG2009/07. Total remuneration package valued to $91,779p.a. ($75,137-$83,171 p.a.) includes employer’s contribution to superannuation and leave loading.

The position coordinates the operations of the Companion Animals program, including the Companion Animals Register. Develop specifications for Register upgrades and enhancements and coordinate implementation of Register program releases. Develop and manage the implementation of training and information programs to educate and support Register users.

Selection Criteria:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff, key council contacts, industry representatives and other stakeholders.
  • Well-developed and effective written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop effective training programs, user guides, guidelines and other instructive and informational material.
  • Experience in coordinating the operations of a team providing a high standard of customer service.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, initiative and the ability to maintain confidentiality and the privacy of personal information.
  • Sound problem resolution, consultation and negotiation skills.
  • Sound project management skills, preferably in an IT-related environment.
  • Ability to work independently and to coordinate the activities of a small team in a high-volume work area.
  • Experience in interpreting legislation, regulations, policy and guidelines and proven experience in implementing business systems and procedures to support legislative and policy requirements.

Notes: This is a Permanent position. Background check, including criminal and employment records and relevant AVO will be conducted on recommended applicants.
